The 2025 Winter Internship Program is an opportunityto work with IDB, IDB Invest, and IDB Lab teams. Interns will work on a hybrid model, incorporating in-person and remote working in Washington D.C.

Make sure you fulfill the following requirements before submitting your application: 

 

      • Citizenship: For internships with the IDB and IDB Lab, candidates must be  citizens of any of our 48 member countries  Positions at IDB Invest do not have citizenship restrictions.  

      • Active Student: Be an active undergraduate (bachelor’s) or graduate (master’s or Ph.D.) student as of the starting date of the internship program. The graduation date should be after the internship period.  

      • Academic Work: For undergraduate students, the second year of school must be completed at the time of applying. For graduate students, a minimum of 50% of coursework completed at the time of applying. 

      • Availability: Must be able to able to work full-time (40 hours per week) from January 16th to March 15th, 2025. Dates are predetermined and fixed, interns cannot start or finish before or after the indicated dates. 

      • Consanguinity: Applicants cannot have family members (up to the fourth degree of consanguinity and second degree of affinity, including spouses) working at the IDB, IDB Lab or IDB Invest.  

      • First job at the IDB Group: The Internship Program must be your first job at the IDB, IDB Invest, or IDB Lab.   

 

Make sure you uploadthe following documents whensubmittingyour applications. Note that applications without the requested documentation will be disqualified.   

 

      • Resume  

      • University letter certifying your enrollment status.

      • Academic Transcripts (official or unofficial) 

        • Academic transcripts and university letters must be issued within the last three months

        • The academic transcripts must include all the courses taken and grades.

        • If you submit an unofficial academic transcript at the time of applying, you will be requested to present an official academic transcript if moving forward in the process

 

Important considerations for a successful application:

  1. Select up to three (3) internship options in the application.
  2. Save each file in a PDF format with your name andthe name of the document (e.g.,resume, university letter, academic transcripts).
  3. DO NOTsend copies of your degree certificates or other courses.
  4. If you are an international student in the U.S., you must obtain work authorization throughCPT or OPT. Consult your school advisor before applying.
  5. If you are a student outside of the U.S.A., the IDB can assist you with the VISA application only for the selected candidate.
