Requirements

Languages:  Native fluency in English and Spanish as A-languages, with a strong command of French and/or Portuguese as C-languages.

Education:  A Master’s degree in Conference Interpretation or a related field.

Experience: A minimum of five years of relevant professional experience as a conference interpreter, including work with international organizations. Good understanding of development finance, economics, statistics, climate change, and other subjects related to the IDB Group’s areas of work.  Familiarity with the LAC region. Experience with Remote Simultaneous Interpretation platforms.

Skills: You must be able to fluently and accurately interpret a wide variety of general, organizational, and technical subject matters, into Spanish and English, using appropriate terminology.

As a staff interpreter, you will need to perform effectively under stress, and exercise appropriate discretion in dealing with sensitive material.

You should have strong work management, organizational and time-management skills, good interpersonal and collaboration skills, and effective communication skills, both verbal and written. You will be expected to learn how to handle systems and databases pertinent to SEC/INP.

  • Requirements: You must be a citizen of one of the IDB’s 48 member countries and have no family members currently working at the IDB Group.
